MORE ABOUT ME

I was born and raised in Kempton Park, Gauteng. My childhood was a great one as we were a very active family and I am blessed to say that the lifestyle maintained into my adulthood. During my school years I met my long-distance running coach who inspired me and taught me how to run. I’ve always had a love for sport and I knew some day it would get me to where I wanted to be.

At 16 I achieved Springbok Colours for cross country running and represented South Africa in Mauritius during our Southern Regional championships. Thanks to this incredible opportunity, I was in the privileged position to have a scholarship offered from the University of Tulsa, Oklahoma in the United States of America. There, I studied Sport Science and ran track as a collegiate athlete. I think my collaborations there with my track friends, my academic advisors and the medical professionals in the sports arena is what gave way to my passion for Physiotherapy.

I came back to South Africa and studied Physiotherapy at The University of Pretoria (TUKS). Even though I enjoyed what the theory and practicals taught me, I wanted to delve deeper into knowing more about accurately diagnosing and treating sports injuries, so in 2017 I did my post graduate Sport Physiotherapy Course.

I have been working as a Physiotherapist now for a decade, and what I have learned most so far is to treat a condition as a whole person, and not just as an injury. There are so many factors of the human condition that influence health and wellness. I love this profession and how it connects mind, body and spirit and I enjoy helping people on their journey. I have grown to love treating not only sports injuries, but also chronic conditions, geriatrics, orthopedics and rehabilitation.

On a personal level, I love nature (especially the ocean!- which is why Hermanus was a great call for me), animals, dancing and art. In my free time, I draw, paint, read and write. I am a coffee addict and I really enjoy wine, good food and exploring the world. I don’t run competitively anymore, but I still run for fun with my dog to keep us both fit.

I am really excited to be in this space and to be able to grow here, and to help you in your journey to getting better, healthier, stronger or faster.
